STUDY: Understanding Asian Housing, Migration And Education Pathways in Sydney: Radio Documentary As Research Method
STUDY OVERVIEW
This study will use a participatory digital storytelling methodology to record the lived experiences of foreign students from China who are living in Sydney and studying in tertiary institutions. Each participant will co-produce with the project team a 15-minute audio story about studying in Australia and navigating the local housing market. The participants will be asked to reflect on the intersection of three themes in their stories:
• Their housing history and plans;
• Their migration history and plans; and
• Their education history and plans in Australia.
PROJECT MANAGER: KEY TASKS
We are seeking a Project Manager to manage the production of the digital content. The project will produce 10 basic digital stories with research participants. The key tasks for the Project Manager are:
• Work with the team to plan the digital content production process
• Allocate tasks to the project team and monitor progress
• Interview participants about their experiences
• Record soundscapes with/for participants
• Seek feedback from participants about their stories
• Audio edit with/for participants in Adobe Audition
• Oversee the production ten 15-minute basic digital stories
